Major key for New York – Dominate the boards

Although the New York Knicks have been one of the league’s better rebounding teams throughout the season, they have regressed back toward the league average since Kristaps Porzingis suffered a season-ending knee injury in Milwaukee’s last visit to Madison Square Garden.

Still, the Knicks boast a host of standout rebounders, and against a team that’s as allergic to rebounding as the Bucks are, that could well become a significant factor in the game.

As an example, even with Enes Kanter missing for Friday’s win against Miami, the Knicks had Kyle O’Quinn grab 14 boards, Damyean Dotson pick up 11 rebounds from the wing, and Luke Kornet add to a red-hot shooting night with eight boards of his own.

Having comfortably won the battle of the boards in their first two meetings of the season with the Bucks, the Knicks came off worse without Kristaps Porzingis in their last matchup.

If they want to close out their back-to-back with a second surprise win, the Knicks will likely have to take charge on the glass once again.
