Bucks Gaming: Inaugural team takes shape after NBA 2K League draft

How does it work?

Games in the NBA 2K League will all be played on PC using Dell’s Alienware hardware, with the players having the choice to use their preferred form of controller, whether that’s a keyboard, or a PlayStation or Xbox controller.

In order to ensure an even playing field, games won’t be played using real life NBA players, or custom-built players whose stats have been built up by the 2K League’s players either. Instead, Bucks Gaming and their opponents will all have to work within positional archetypes.

As Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype detailed, the players will simply pick their position and then select from a relevant style as the base point for their in-game avatar.

Games will be hosted at a central location throughout the season, and will be available to watch online, most likely via Twitch.

Outside of game time, Bucks Gaming’s players will train in a custom-designed base in Milwaukee. In the state of the art set-up put in place by the Bucks, the players will practice as they look to hone their skills and build up chemistry as a group, while their residence will be just a couple of minutes away.

Much like the Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Herd, Bucks Gaming has a dedicated staff in place that includes a front office complete with general manager and scouts.

The players are all paid salaries with the option of further financial incentives coming from winning tournaments or the overall championship. First round picks will be paid $35,000, while the rest of the players will earn $32,000. On top of that, players will have insurance benefits and will have the cost of their housing and relocation covered.
