Bucks Gaming: Inaugural team takes shape after NBA 2K League draft

10th: DRAKE GRIFFIN (Aaron Rookwood) – PG

As point guards proved popular in the first round of the draft, Bucks Gaming wasted no time in picking up a floor general of their own.

A native of New York, Aaron Rookwood, who is better known as DRAKE GRIFFIN in the NBA 2K community will be making the move to Milwaukee to act as the focal point of Bucks Gaming’s roster in their rookie season.

Speaking to Brian Mazique of Forbes, DRAKE GRIFFIN explained how changing from his long-time position of shooting guard to point guard ahead of the Combine worked out for him.

Expanding upon that, Rookwood compared the way he approaches the game to the style of Portland Trail Blazers’ All-Star guard Damian Lillard.

"“I modeled myself on [being] more of a scorer [first], then pass. Maybe like a Damian Lillard. I feel like that’s who I was definitely trying to play like. Just a score-at-will, nobody can stop me kind of player. But if you try to take away my scoring, I can definitely pass and kill you with that also.”"

25th: oLARRY (Timothy Anselimo) – C

Away from point guards, it seemed like one of the primary targets for the 17 franchises involved in Wednesday afternoon’s draft was to find a center.

For Bucks Gaming, it was oLARRY who was drafted to man the middle. Hailing from Florida, oLARRY is otherwise known as Timothy Anselimo.

Anselimo made for a logical second round pick for Bucks Gaming, as with the first pick being used on a point guard, a center who could function as a potential pick-and-roll partner for DRAKE GRIFFIN was always going to be a priority.

44th: Procis1on (Jacob Wells) – SG

An experienced professional gamer, the Bucks picked up Procis1on with their third round pick in Wednesday’s draft.

Procis1on, otherwise known as Jacob Wells, is not only a 2K veteran but a former Gears of War 2 pro too.

A native of Illinois, Wells won’t have far to go as he settles into life in Milwaukee and slots in at the shooting guard position for Bucks Gaming. As a 56 percent three-point shooter at the Draft Combine, he’ll be essential to Bucks Gaming’s offensive efforts.

Having previously played alongside both oLARRY and DRAKE GRIFFIN, Procis1on’s chemistry with his teammates could also be significant.

59th: XxSTL2LAxX (Mark Hampton) – SF

In the fourth round, Bucks Gaming turned to another wing as they began to shore up their likely starting five for their inaugural season.

XxSTL2LAxX was the man taken with the 59th pick and will be tasked with playing small forward for the team this season.

XxSTL2LAxX, otherwise known as Mark Hampton, hails from Missouri.

78. KinG_PeroXide (Matt Hoffman) – PF

With the 78th pick in the 2K League Draft, Bucks Gaming were left to pick a power forward and they opted for KinG_PeroXide.

Also known as Matt Hoffman, KinG_Peroxide didn’t have far to travel for his big moment on Wednesday’s draft, as he’s a New York native.

KinG_PeroXide joined DRAKE GRIFFIN as Bucks Gaming’s representatives at the 2K League’s first event on Friday, as he even managed to produce a highlight-worthy dunk in the NBA 2K League Draft Clash.

93. BigBaby2k (Jovan Tenner) – SF

With their sixth and final pick of Wednesday’s draft, Bucks Gaming opted to add another forward into the mix.

BigBaby2k would seem likely to start the season out as the team’s sixth man based on his position in the draft order.

A small forward, BigBaby2k is a Texas native otherwise known as Jovan Tenner.
