Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 115-102 win over New York Knicks
Jabari bounces back
Jabari Parker’s return from his second season-ending knee surgery continues to be one of the most fascinating subplots for the Bucks this season. Coach Prunty has preferred to bring Parker off the bench midway through the first quarter, but with Giannis sitting this one out, the former Blue Devil got the call to start against the Knicks.
The change in role may have come at a great time for Parker, as he was coming off a pretty poor performance against Brooklyn, and undoubtedly looking to right the ship as quickly as possible.
Against the Knicks, Jabari Parker led the Bucks in minutes with 36. He scored 16 points on 7-of-15 from the field. His shooting line includes a great night from beyond the arc, where he went 2-of-3. Interestingly, Parker did not shoot a single free throw in the contest.
Watching the game it would be hard to say that his night off from the charity stripe was due to a lack of effort, however. Parker was mixing it up in the paint all night long, and frequently attacked the basket. While it didn’t equate to any trips to the line, it did help Parker collect 12 rebounds, tying center John Henson for the team high.
The former number two overall draft pick has shown the tools to take over a game on the offensive end, but despite the extended run that never really happened against the Knicks. Nevertheless, he made a huge shot down the stretch, as Milwaukee closed the game out in dominating fashion.
