Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 102-86 win over Orlando Magic
A mixed night for Jabari
Taking the place of Giannis Antetokounmpo in the team’s starting lineup, there was more than met the eye in terms of Jabari Parker‘s night than his box score line might suggest.
In just over 28-and-a-half minutes, Parker had 16 points on 7-of 13 shooting from the field (2-of-4 from deep), nine rebounds, five turnovers, two steals and was a -5 for the night.
After getting off to a fast start, Parker looked out of sync playing off his teammates on the offensive end at times, leading to him tallying his season-high for turnovers in his shortened campaign.
As expected, Parker’s efforts defensively left plenty to be desired as he hardly showed a consistent level of committing to that end of the floor and closing out on open three-point shooters as well.
There is something to be said about the rhythm Parker has gotten into off the bench since returning from his second ACL injury in early February and how that may be informing his play when he earns spot starts. But no matter what, you’d like to see Parker perform up to his capabilities with these types of opportunities and he hasn’t been all that convincing in said chances to this point.
