8. Henson has a night

Entering the season, John Henson was considered by some to be the third string center behind Thon Maker, Greg Monroe. Henson’s value to the team was dropping off a cliff and with three years remaining on his deal, there were certainly no opposing teams calling to take him off Milwaukee’s hands.

With all things considered, what Henson has been able to put together this season has been nothing short of remarkable, highlighted by one particular performance against Brooklyn in February. With Milwaukee riding high following Jason Kidd‘€™s removal, they easily accounted for the struggling Nets, with Henson finishing with 19 points (on 14 shots) and 18 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds.

The efficient scoring mark was his highest of the season, but more impressive was his rebounding total as he easily accounted for Brooklyn’s bigs on the glass on both ends. His 18 rebound tally was the second highest total of his career, only eclipsed by a 25 rebounding effort in his rookie season.

Henson, not normally known for his elite rebounding ability was the driving force behind that Milwaukee win over Brooklyn. Unfortunately, Henson managed to pick up a niggling injury in that particular game and was forced to sit out four of the following five games.

Since his full return to the lineup, he hasn’€™t quite managed to find the form he had in that game against Brooklyn. But Bucks fans should take confidence that Henson still has performances like this up his sleeve which is extremely important heading forward as the head office attempts to place talent around Antetokounmpo.
