Milwaukee Bucks: Top 10 moments of 2017-18 regular season

7. Bledsoe carries Milwaukee in the City of Angels
On the second leg of a back to back, it took an inspired performance from Eric Bledsoe to carry the Bucks to an overtime win against a plucky Los Angeles Lakers team. Milwaukee’€™s Big Three combined for 94 points to take the game away from LA. None were more impressive though, than Bledsoe who finished with 39 points (including a season high seven made triples), six assists, four steals and zero turnovers.
It was clearly Bledsoe’s best effort in a Milwaukee uniform, and it carried the Bucks to an important win in terms of maintaining a positive footing in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this performance was Bledsoe’€™s efforts in overtime. He poured in 11 of Milwaukee’s 12 points in the period, including the first nine from either team.
Bledsoe’s ability to score in clutch moments has always been one of his strengths. It has been argued by many that Bledsoe’s inability to distribute efficiently amongst his team mates is a key reason why he should not be retained at the end of his current contract. But he silenced many of his doubters during this performance as he put Milwaukee on his back and carried them to victory, essentially all on his own, in overtime.
On a team with a talent as special as Giannis Antetokounmpo, one could argue the importance of a pass-first guard who can distribute and make plays for Milwaukee’s star forward. But in the same breath, it’€™s equally as important to not become over reliant on one player and this is what Bledsoe provided that night in Los Angeles. He took the load off the Greek Freak and snatched an important win for the Bucks on his own.
