Fit with the Bucks

While he’s largely been considered a late lottery selection as has already been projected in multiple mock drafts at this point, the idea of Knox being on the board when the Bucks are on the clock at 17th overall is an interesting prospect.

In a lot of ways, if the Bucks lean heavily and consider taking Knox, should he be available, it will give us a great indication on how they feel moving forward with Jabari Parker, who will be entering restricted free agency on July 1.

Despite what superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo might say regarding Parker’s future in Milwaukee, the second overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft’s return to the Bucks doesn’t look as certain as it once did, for a variety of factors even outside of his injury history.

In potentially taking someone of Knox’s talents, the Bucks can start fresh and take a player who they can mold in the hope of building another complementary piece around Antetokounmpo as well as the well-rounded Khris Middleton.

The offensive repertoire Knox has already fashioned at this stage of his career certainly checks a lot of boxes of the type of player you’d ideally like alongside Antetokounmpo in particular, one who can flourish next to him in theoretical small ball lineups.

Of course, there’s more to that as we’ll likely see with whoever the Bucks’ ownership and front office decides on for the coaching hire that looms over the organization at the moment. Either way, Knox can further the boost the versatility the Bucks can sport to give opposing teams more headaches under ideal circumstances.

In any event, it’s safe to feel skeptical that Knox will be available by the time the Bucks are on the clock. If he indeed is, however, his talent, potential and more may be too good for the Bucks to pass up, even if it may bring up further questions that hang over the team at this time.
