Milwaukee Bucks 2017-18 Season Review: Tony Snell
Summer focus and final grade
For starters, no financial uncertainty hangs over Snell this summer as he just wrapped up the first year under his current deal with the Bucks, contrasting with what had been the biggest question hanging over him last year.
Beyond that, though, a lot of the focus for Snell this summer is dependent on what the Bucks do moving forward with their coaching hire that is yet to be determined.
As has been well covered throughout this piece, the trust that was lost in Snell by both Jason Kidd and Joe Prunty indirectly helped set the wheels in motion for the dips in play he experienced throughout the latter half of the season.
Forming a new bond with whoever ends up being his next coach will go a long way to hopefully reclaiming his spot as a complementary starter from his perspective and jumpstart the same level of individual success he enjoyed in his first season in Milwaukee.
A lot is riding on Snell reclaiming that kind of form and as much as it is tied to whoever is managing his minutes and overall role, it’s up to Snell to alleviate the concerns that have bubbled up after how his campaign shook out this year.
Otherwise, more dire questions will likely be raised regarding Snell’s place within the team entirely if this is the start of something more worrisome.
