Strengths

Standing at 6’9″ and armed with a 7’4″ wingspan, Williams possesses the size, length and the athletic qualities that make him well suited to thrive as a modern day 5, a position he didn’t primarily play while at Texas A&M.

Offensively, Williams’ capabilities lies around or at the basket, which he often capitalizes on through vicious rim-ripping dunks in pick-and-roll situations, in transition and putbacks.

It’s on the defensive end where Williams shines the brightest, especially after being named the Defensive Player of the Year in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.

The biggest reason for that is due to the 20-year-old’s marvelous shot blocking prowess, seeing that he averaged 2.5 blocks per game over his two seasons with the Aggies. As much as Williams may be better suited to man the rim and act as the last line of defense exclusively, he’s certainly capable of stepping out and defending in space when he’s switched on to guards or wings.

Rounding it all out, Williams is a very willing and effective rebounder on both ends of the floor as he hauled down double-digit boards (13.5, to be exact) per 40 minutes during his time at Texas A&M.
