Milwaukee Bucks 2017-18 Season Review: D.J. Wilson
The worst of Wilson
Effectively playing a grand total of 421 minutes between the NBA level and the G League level, there weren’t all that many opportunities for Wilson to completely look out of his element, if we’re being honest.
With that said, there were some truly nightmarish late game cameos (a mid-January home game against the Orlando Magic comes to mind) that reinforced the point that Wilson wasn’t close to holding his own in an NBA environment at this point in time.
As a result of his scant number of minutes coming with the Bucks, Wilson’s flaws were more exposed while assigned to the Herd.
Whether it was being overmatched physically against his specific matchup, shying away from attacking the glass or racking up an ungodly amount of turnovers on given nights, it’s an understatement to say that plenty of work needs to be done to fine tune Wilson’s unrefined skill set.
Whether implementing an entirely new coaching staff will help expedite Wilson’s development remains to be seen, but there’s nowhere to go but up from here for him, that is if you happen to be an optimistic Bucks fan.
