The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly scheduled their first draft workout this spring with Wisconsin Badgers standout forward Ethan Happ being brought in this Thursday.

Following the end to their 2017-18 season, the focus surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks has revolved around their ongoing head coaching search.

While that process has picked up steam over the last few days as interviews with coaching candidates are reportedly being held throughout the week, another process is only getting started for the Bucks.

With this year’s draft nearly six weeks away, we’re starting to see teams around the league bring in players for both individual and group workouts.

The Bucks can now be added to that list of teams as they will hold an individual workout with Wisconsin Badgers big man Ethan Happ on Thursday, according to Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

A redshirt junior, Happ declared for the draft following the completion of the Badgers’ disappointing 2017-18 season, one that ended with the school recording their first losing season in 20 years.

However, the 22-year-old has yet to hire an agent, which leaves the possibility for him to return back to the school, should he withdraw his name from the draft by May 30.

As a result of Happ opting to still retain his collegiate eligibility, being able to receive feedback from NBA teams on the areas he needs to work on is absolutely vital for players mulling a return back to school.

Over his three seasons in Madison, Happ has been very productive within the Badgers system operating as a more traditional, back to the basket forward/big man.

In 105 total appearances over his three years playing as a Badger, Happ has averaged 14.7 points on 55 percent shooting from the field, along with 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

However, in large part due to the nature of the strengths in his game and his tweener status, the Illinois native’s pro prospects are clouded with uncertainty. As of this writing, Happ has not been extended an invite to this year’s NBA Draft Combine, which takes place from May 16-20 in Chicago, Illinois.

While Happ is holding out hope that an invite may be in the cards for him before the event takes place next week, he’s still staying focused on the process of showcasing his game to teams around the league as he told Jim Polzin of the Wisconsin State Journal last week:

"“Not getting an invite to the combine — at least initially — is tough. But I feel like I’ve made a lot of improvements to my game and I’m looking forward to showing some people that.”"

As this pertains to the Bucks, bringing in Happ gets the ball rolling on hosting prospects that are looking to achieve their dream of playing in the NBA throughout this year’s draft process.

Despite possessing the 17th overall pick at this time, we’ll surely see a whole variety of players come through Milwaukee, some who may end up logging a stay with the team, whether it’s through Summer League, in training camp or with their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd.
