Milwaukee Bucks 2017-18 Season Review: Malcolm Brogdon
Game of the season
Back on January 22, the Bucks made waves with the decision to fire former head coach Jason Kidd. Standing at 23-22 at the time of his firing, the underachieving the Bucks would finish out the season doing had been set in motion under the watch of the 45-year-old.
With the news still only sinking in for Bucks fans, that night’s game versus the Phoenix Suns stood largely as an afterthought. But the show still had to go on and the Bucks had to trudge forward without their superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, for the night, who was sidelined with a scheduled rest game.
As it turned out, Brogdon was one of a few players who stepped up to the plate to help the Bucks cinch a 109-105 victory over the Suns.
Brogdon, who missed the previous game due to a personal matter, was inserted in the starting lineup and crafted together a phenomenal offensive performance, which stood as his most efficient outing in his shortened season.
The reigning Rookie of the Year backed that up on the defensive end by helping keep Suns star Devin Booker in check, who finished the night with 14 points on 2-of-14 shooting from the field (1-of-6 from deep).
Playing close to 35 minutes of action, Brogdon posted a career-high 32 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field (3-for-4 from three), five turnovers, four rebounds, three steals, two assists, a block and was a team-high +16 for the night.
