NBA Draft 2018 Prospect Watch: Melvin Frazier
Having showed vast improvements throughout his junior season at Tulane University, wing Melvin Frazier is making the jump to the NBA level after officially declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft.
Who is Melvin Frazier?
After practically bursting on to the scene based on his breakout campaign this season for Tulane University, junior swingman Melvin Frazier has officially declared for the 2018 NBA Draft.
It’s a remarkable development for the Louisiana-born Frazier, who earned the honor of being named AAC Most Improved Player following the end of Tulane’s 14-17 season, which was helmed by former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Dunleavy Sr.
Frazier’s decision to forgo his senior season is quite unprecedented in the history of the program as he is the first player to leave for the draft before his senior season, according to Guerry Smith of The New Orleans Advocate.

Additionally, it’s a high mark for a school that is going on 23 years since they last appeared in the NCAA Tournament.
Never known as a hot bed for developing NBA-level talent, it’s been 20 years since the Green Wave have had a prospect get selected in the draft. The last being Jerald Honeycutt, who was taken 38th overall by the Bucks in the 1998 NBA Draft.
If Frazier does end up getting taken in the first round of this year’s draft like some draft experts peg him to be at this point, he’ll become the first-ever Tulane player to become a first round selection.
So without further ado, let’s break down Melvin Frazier’s game on both sides of the coin, check in on how draft experts currently rate him and evaluate his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
