Summer focus and final grade

With his first season in the Bucks organization now in the books, what this summer holds for Munford is a curious topic to tackle, admittedly.

As I covered in my season review of Marshall Plumlee earlier this week, the lack of transparency over the duration of two-way contracts makes it incredibly hard to read just how long two-way players are under contract for.

And with the added wrinkle of Munford being brought in on a two-way deal midway through the year, it’s easy to speculate whether terms and length are adjusted accordingly for deals made during the season.

With a form of restricted free agency now coming for those whose two-way contracts were in place just for this year, it will be interesting to see how the Bucks will approach it, should either one of Munford or Plumlee’s respective deals be up on July 1.

Regardless, the two-way mechanism is still new ground to cover for all teams around the league, much less the Bucks, and there a few tweaks that could be made to improve upon it as Adam Johnson of 2 Ways & 10 Days covered here.

Beyond freely speculating, though, we can only hope the Herd and the organization as a whole will look to keep a foundation piece in Munford as they look to improve on their first G League season.
