NBA Draft: Could Moritz Wagner offer the Bucks much-needed frontcourt shooting?
After rounding out his game over the last three seasons with the Wolverines, former University of Michigan big man Moritz Wagner is making the jump by declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft.
Capping off his collegiate career with a run to the NCAA championship game this year, which ended in a 79-62 defeat to the University of Villanova, Moritz Wagner officially declared for the 2018 NBA Draft not long after the end of the Wolverines’ illustrious season.
This isn’t Wagner’s first time entertaining the jump to the pros as he tested the waters during last year’s draft process, before bowing out on the day of last year’s early entry deadline (as an aside, he also worked out for the Bucks in Milwaukee as detailed here).
Armed with plenty of motivation to improve his prospects for when he makes his jump to the professional level, the Berlin-born Wagner reinforced his skill set in his junior season at Ann Arbor this year.

When faced with a similar crossroads moment this time around, Wagner didn’t hesitate with his decision, while weighing the pros and cons carefully.
As he relayed to Nick Baumgartner of the Detroit Free Press following his decision to declare for the draft and close the book on his time in Michigan, his confidence and assessment of his game, both good and bad, drove the thought process behind the move:
"“I don’t care about (the risk) stuff. Last year was too risky, yes,” Wagner said earlier this week. “That was the main thing. I know what I can do and what I can’t. I’m old enough now to measure that and be confident in my ability.”"
So without further ado, let’s examine what Moritz Wagner has to offer now that he’s making the jump to the NBA, how draft experts gauge his range at this point in the process and evaluate his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
