Fit with the Bucks

With his range primarily slotted in the second round, it’s very likely, if not a certainty, that Alkins will be available when the Bucks are on the clock at 17.

Since it’s hard to imagine the former Wildcat being considered at that position, the avenues are limited that see Alkins wearing green and cream next season, considering the Bucks only hold one draft pick this year as has been well covered by now.

Without having to rehash why it’d be in the Bucks’ best interest to change that once the draft rolls around, all of that isn’t to say Alkins wouldn’t fill a need for the Bucks.

As we have covered extensively during this year’s draft process, there are certainly a surplus of wings throughout this year’s draft class and there will always be a premium placed on those types of players throughout the league.

The Bucks are no exception to that and whether it’s to increase their three-point potency, versatility and overall small ball lineup capabilities under new head coach Mike Budenholzer, it’s very likely they target wing players in the lead up to the draft.

Alkins certainly falls in that category and while there are more polished wings who either offer more upside or are able to contribute instantly than the 20-year-old, he still warrants a look during the pre-draft process.

But as of now, that’s as far as the Bucks’ interest in Alkins will likely go, unless they somehow land a pick deeper in the draft come June 21.
