Weaknesses
While it’s very easy to glow about all the elite athletic attributes he possesses, Diallo hasn’t come all that close to developing a refined skill set at this point in time.
That was there for everyone to see during his lone season with the Wildcats, which was only further magnified by the spacing concerns that were a theme all throughout their campaign this year as it relates to the offensive end.
One of the main concerns revolving around Diallo is his proficiency on the perimeter, or lack thereof as it stands. Despite knocking down a merely below average 33.8 percent from downtown on 2.1 attempts per game, Diallo’s free throw efficiency (61.6 percent on 125 attempts) indicate that he’s in line to overhaul his shot mechanics and overall form.
Secondly, for all the incredible physical tools he boasts, Diallo is far from an engaged presence on the defensive end or holds the discipline to be a real impact defender, both on and off the ball.
Lastly, Diallo’s undeveloped handle and lack of playmaking vision hinders his ability to create scoring opportunities for others on a consistent basis, as evidenced by the fact that he registered a 0.90 assist-to-turnover ratio this season.
