Strengths

For starters, Allen proved throughout the majority of his tenure at Duke that he’s an efficient shot maker from all three levels of the floor, having posted 14.1 points per game on shooting splits of .430/.380/.834 over his time in Durham.

To add to that, Allen is a dynamic marksman as he’s more than adept at knocking down shots when coming off screens, on catch and shoot situations or even pulling up from beyond the arc and/or mid-range.

The shooting threat that Allen poses also helps in his penchant to attack closeouts when run off the three-point line and he possesses the requisite athleticism and explosion to throw it down off of one or two feet.

While he’ll be asked to fill it up to similar percentages now that’s he entering the NBA level, Allen is capable of creating scoring opportunities beyond himself.

The 22-year-old displays capable playmaking chops off of pick and roll situations, both in terms of vision and accuracy and just this last season alone, Allen posted 4.6 assists per game as well as a 2.18 assist-to-turnover ratio.
