6. Michael Redd

Although as a rookie he may have been rooted toward the back of the Bucks bench for much of the franchise’s most successful season of the 21st century so far, Michael Redd eventually stepped into the limelight and thrived in his own right.

It may have coincided with one of the more inauspicious eras of Bucks basketball, but Redd developed into a genuine top tier scorer in the NBA throughout the mid-2000s, building a career that was likely deserving of more than one All-Star trip.

Still, Redd defied the odds and the perception of him when he entered the league, becoming close to a career 20 points per game scorer after being selected with the 43rd pick of the 2000 draft.

That would make Redd a steal in his own right, but his overall level of play only looks more impressive in the wider context of the 2000 class. While the likes of Jamaal Magloire and Kenyon Martin both managed to make single All-Star appearances in their career, Redd was the only member of that class to earn both All-Star and All-NBA honors across the course of his career.

For as much as the Bucks failed to get sufficient help for Redd throughout most of his career, and injuries ultimately proved problematic for the former Ohio State Buckeye, he was an outstanding pickup for a then thriving Milwaukee team and remains a popular figure in the city to this day.
