9. Glenn Robinson

With the benefit of hindsight, the argument can certainly be made that the Bucks could have made better use of their first overall pick by drafting Jason Kidd or Grant Hill, but by no means was it a noteworthy mis-step to pick the often mercurial talent of Glenn Robinson.

Robinson had left no doubt to his ability as an outstanding scorer during his time in Purdue, and in joining Vin Baker on the young and rebuilding Bucks, he wasted no time in carrying that ability over to the professional ranks.

Kidd and Hill may have shared Rookie of the Year honors but Robinson starred as a rookie too, averaging 21.9 points per game in Milwaukee.

Robinson maintained his high level scoring throughout his time with the Bucks, most notably helping the franchise to the Conference Finals in 2001 as part of the Big Three also comprised of Ray Allen and Sam Cassell.

A two-time All-Star, Robinson’s career didn’t last as long as it arguably should have, but he certainly didn’t disappoint with his production during eight years as a Buck.
