Milwaukee Bucks: Assessing Jon Horst’s performance heading into draft night
By Ben Rauman
Overall Grade
Overall, Jon Horst has done a satisfactory job in his first year as general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Though there are still some concerns moving forward regarding his ability to draft players, it is unfair to assess him based on one draft which he had just a week to prepare for as the newly hired GM.
He may have overpaid for Tony Snell in free agency, but trading for Eric Bledsoe gave the Bucks a much-needed injection of talent.
Finally, the decision to fire Jason Kidd and hire Mike Budenholzer gave the Bucks the potential to develop into the championship-caliber team they hope to be in the next few years.
For as unorthodox as the GM search was for the Bucks, Horst put together a solid first year and will hope to build on that in the 2018 Draft.
