Trevor Booker

As a veteran big man with a versatile skill-set, Trevor Booker will almost certainly have various teams vying for his services this summer.

With that in mind, there’s certainly a chance he could attract a much more lucrative offer than the other players in this range, but in a summer where cash is expected to be limited for big men in particular, he may have to settle for a different kind of contract too.

If that is the case, Booker at least arrives at this juncture with the luxury of having been paid handsomely for a role player in recent years. The two-year, $18 million deal he signed with the Brooklyn Nets ultimately saw him suit up for both the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers before its conclusion.

Dating back to his time with the Utah Jazz, Booker had earned a reputation as a highly intelligent, team-first player, who is generally considered to be a very positive locker room presence.

Booker can’t space the floor like many modern power forwards are asked to, but he’s positionally intelligent, a solid rebounder, a skilled post scorer and a player who could help teams to unlock some small-ball options that retain an element of strength inside.

With over $35 million in career salary to date, Booker may also have the flexibility to consider taking a little bit less this summer in exchange for landing in a situation with a favorable role and a chance to compete deep into the playoffs.
