Milwaukee Bucks: 10 potential veteran minimum NBA free agency targets
By Adam McGee
Omri Casspi
Omri Casspi’s season with the Warriors certainly didn’t play out how he or many others imagined it.
Perceived as another deadeye shooter set to only make Golden State’s historically potent offense even more dangerous, the reality saw the Israeli veteran used relatively sparingly before having the great misfortune of being waived to make room for Quinn Cook just a week before the playoffs.
A combination of his own injury problems and the need for guard depth heading into the playoffs forced Golden State’s hand, but Casspi handled the decision graciously and remains adamant that he wants to continue playing in the NBA rather than returning overseas.
Casspi’s injury record would certainly be a concern for teams interested in signing him as they have significantly impacted his availability at times over the last couple of seasons.
On the much more positive side of the ledger, Casspi has been healthy enough to play over 50 games in three of his last four seasons, and he shot over 40 percent from three-point range in each of those campaigns.
Casspi has the shooting required to be a featured shooter who Budenholzer could design plays for off the bench, and may make for a natural replacement for what the Bucks hoped they were going to get out of Teletovic.
