Milwaukee Bucks: 10 potential mid-level exception NBA free agency targets

Wayne Ellington
Having been little more than a journeyman fighting to stay in the league through the first seven years or so of his career, Wayne Ellington has transformed his game over the past couple of seasons and this summer could see his fortunes equally transformed.
Landing with the Miami Heat seemed to bring the best out of Ellington, as he has previously gone on record as explaining the organization’s dedication to fitness and conditioning as being key to his newfound success.
Whatever drove the change in Ellington’s game, the result is the 30-year-old has quickly become one of the NBA’s deadliest sharpshooters.
Ellington set a new record for most three-pointers made coming off the bench last season in Miami, and has made 38.3 percent of his near 1,000 attempts from deep in two seasons with the Heat.
There aren’t many players as skilled at moving off the ball and running around screens, and Ellington’s shooting coming out of those situations has been highly impressive.
As players with that ability can unlock a wide range of openings for a team’s offense, interest in Ellington is almost guaranteed to be high. As much as the Heat would love to bring the veteran wing back, they may struggle to afford to do so with their current high payroll/middling roster combination. Ellington could be on the move and is capable of making a major impact wherever he lands.
