Fit with Bucks

Having long been a favorite trade and/or free agent target in the eyes of many Bucks fans in recent years, the prospect of O’Quinn coming to Milwaukee will interest those who hold his services in high regard.

However, the potential fit and opportunity for O’Quinn in Milwaukee isn’t quite as open as some Bucks fans are hoping for, at least as of this writing. After all, the Bucks currently have at best, a serviceable frontcourt mix between John Henson, Thon Maker and Tyler Zeller.

With that said, there may be room to add another big, especially when taking into account what happens with Zeller as his salary next year is non-guaranteed (though, there’s no reported date for when his guarantee deadline is).

Of course, that would be pretty terrible asset management on the Bucks’ part if they were to opt against guaranteeing Zeller’s salary for next season, considering they dealt away a second round pick in this year’s draft to acquire him for what would equate to a three-month stay.

Regardless of the present circumstances, O’Quinn still stands as a desirable option at the 5 while the Bucks still look to find their long-term center solution.

The combination of the skill-set O’Quinn has steadily refined as well as his physical profile and overall mentality is the ideal blend the Bucks have long been searching to find over the last few years.

Add in the fact that the former Spartan stands as a great character to have in the locker room, O’Quinn can provide the proper balance for any team, much less the Bucks, both on and off the court.

But with the assumption that he will be in high demand, especially for contending teams looking to add reinforcements at cost effective prices, the dream of O’Quinn donning a Bucks uniform may stay exactly that when it’s all said and done.
