Recently becoming an unrestricted free agent in this year’s NBA Free Agency, Doug McDermott will likely be searching for some stability wherever he next lands on his feet. Could he be an attractive option to the Milwaukee Bucks?

Now entering NBA Free Agency for the first time in his young career, swingman Doug McDermott has certainly been around the block in his four years in the league.

The 11th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, McDermott enjoyed his first two-and-a-half years in the NBA as a member of the Chicago Bulls, where he went on to have relatively solid seasons in the infancy of his career.

But since being dealt by the Bulls to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the 2017 NBA Trade Deadline, McDermott’s career has taken a sharp turn in terms of its growing instability.

More from Bucks Free Agency

McDermott’s stay in Oklahoma only lasted the second half of the 2016-17 season as he was then dealt to the New York Knicks as part of the trade package that helped the Thunder land 10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony.

After recording 55 games in the Big Apple this season, McDermott’s stint with the Knicks came to an end when he was again dealt to the Dallas Mavericks at the trade deadline as part of a three-team deal.

While he quickly acclimated to Dallas upon landing there midway through the year, McDermott’s future with the Mavericks has come into question after they rescinded his qualifying offer not long after tendering it to him earlier in the week.

With the Mavericks reportedly setting their sights on more high profile free agents and/or possible trade scenarios, the Creighton product is looking at what could be another short spell and will be free to potentially find yet another new home in his career.

So without further ado, let’s dive deep into Doug McDermott’s game, his newly minted case on the open market and examine his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
