James Blackmon Jr.

One of two current players that come from the Wisconsin Herd, James Blackmon Jr. will give the Bucks’ Summer League squad an accomplished long-range shooter on the wing.

As we saw in Oshkosh once he was acquired by the Herd from the Delaware 87ers on January 26, Blackmon is a lethal knockdown shooter from downtown. In his 19 appearances with the Herd last season, Blackmon sunk 43.5 percent of his 108 three-point attempts, all coming on 16.7 points per game.

As much as Blackmon’s skilled shooting stroke stands as the primary appeal in his game, the Indiana product is capable of capitalizing at the basket off of cuts and even putting the ball on the floor when run off the three-point line by opposing defenders.

Switching sides, Blackmon poses as a sound, adequate team defender and his above average length (6’8″ wingspan) makes up for his below average size at 6’4.”

Based on the 3-and-D potential he holds, Blackmon may be a name to keep an eye on beyond this year’s Summer League, especially if he makes the most of the opportunities that will come his way.
