A night for draft revisionists
While the wait for Donte DiVincenzo‘s debut continues, Thursday night will present the tantalizing prospect that it could come against the player who was selected directly after him on draft night.
Due in large part to the team’s mixed draft record in recent years, a sense of revisionist thinking around draft picks and the endless comparing of alternate options has become a prevalent talking point in the sphere of all things Bucks.
That could continue throughout the upcoming season and beyond, but it will certainly be kicked off with a closer look at Lonnie Walker in a Spurs jersey in Vegas.
Walker has had a solid but unspectacular Summer League campaign in terms of production, although there have been moments of individual brilliance that certainly hint at a particularly bright future for the former Miami Hurricane.
If DiVincenzo is deemed healthy enough to play, he’ll have the chance to provide a response and generate some excitement of his own for Bucks fans. If he doesn’t play, though, Walker will have a clear and immediate path to burrow his way into the psyche of Bucks fans for years to come.
