Milwaukee Bucks: Welcome to History Month 2018 at Behind the Buck Pass
By Adam McGee
For the third year running, September will mark Milwaukee Bucks History Month here at Behind the Buck Pass. Let’s take a closer look at what that means.
As September arrives, training camp is now just around the corner for the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the NBA’s teams. In other words, the time has come for most NBA fans to look ahead with excitement about what’s to come for their team.
Before taking that jump, here at Behind the Buck Pass we always like to take some time to remind ourselves of, and reminisce about, what’s gone before.
Heading into their 51st season in existence, the Bucks have a rich, distinguished and interesting history. With just one championship to their name, it may not have been as successful as many would have hoped, but that certainly doesn’t mean the Bucks haven’t had spells of providing great success, excitement and entertainment.

With that in mind, we’re thrilled to shine a light on many of those great, eventful and interesting moments in what’s our third edition of Bucks History Month.
As has been the case in previous years, in addition to our regular day-to-day, 2018 focused Bucks coverage, for the month of September we’ll also be producing daily history content.
Also following the same shape of previous iterations, that coverage will be structured around four themed weeks.
Starting immediately and running through to September 8, you can enjoy our Hall of Fame Week (and a little bit extra). Bucks greats already in the Hall of Fame and those deserving of the honor but still awaiting the call will certainly feature, before the focus shifts to Ray Allen for four straight days prior to his enshrinement in Springfield.
Moving on from Hall of Fame Week, our focus will switch to Great Bucks Teams and their individual seasons from September 9-15. Unsurprisingly, that will give us a chance to dive deeper into the franchise’s halcyon days of the 1970s and 1980s, while also taking the time to revisit the standout high point of more recent times too.
From September 23-29, things will take a tonal shift of sorts as we embark on a Week of Weirdness. Bucks fans are no strangers to bizarre and funny events surrounding their team, and this will give us an opportunity to explore some of those events that time may have forgotten and to have some fun in the process.
Lastly, if you could construct the Ultimate Buck by taking single skills from a variety of the franchise’s former players, what would they look like and whose skills would prove most valuable. We’ll take a look at some of the standout skill elements from the franchise’s greatest players in an attempt to find out.
Of course, in the midst of all of this the Win in 6 Podcast will also take some detours down memory lane too, while on social media we’ll dip into our history archives to share some of our previous work in this area too.
Whether you’re a long-time Bucks fan looking to relive and remember former glories or a younger fan eager to learn more about the team you love, we hope you’ll join us on our journey through Bucks history for what’s always one of our favorite times of the year.
