1. 1970-71 season
With only one championship banner to hang from the rafters of Fiserv Forum, there was never any doubt as to what would be considered the greatest Bucks season of all-time on this list.
Still, what often goes under-discussed is just how great Milwaukee were in so many other ways across the course of this outstanding season.
The Bucks ran off a franchise record 20-game win streak, led the league in offensive rating, defensive rating and points per game, and never looked in even the slightest danger during their postseason run.
In just the franchise’s third season in existence, an all-time great duo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson ensured the Bucks finished with an average margin of victory of 12.2 points per game, while they were ably supported by outstanding contributions from Bob Dandridge and Jon McGlocklin among others.
Series against the Los Angeles Lakers and San Francisco Warriors proved to be little more than a stroll in the park for the Bucks, wrapping both series up in just five games, but an even more comfortable series was yet to come.
The Bucks may well have been lucky to avoid their nemesis at the time, the New York Knicks, but that didn’t take anything away from the commanding sweep of the Baltimore Bullets which secured championship celebrations in Milwaukee.
The 66-win total still stands as a franchise record, while with the championship hardware to back that up further, it’s fair to say the Bucks may never see a team of the ’71 squad’s ilk again.
