Jon Horst

Horst on the team’s most important offseason move:

"“It starts with [Coach] Bud. I think that’s the biggest addition to our team and our franchise this summer. With Bud and Giannis, I truly feel like we have a path. With Giannis, you can pick a style of play, you know the type of players that fit, the kind of culture we want to create, and to have a coach that feels so strongly about the style of play that he’s had success with — and he’s seen success as an assistant coach and a head coach — for us, I feel like we have a direction and path that we can follow, and will take us to success.”"

Horst on the team’s identity:

"“Ultimately I think we want to create space for our guys who can go make plays for themselves, and for people who receive to ball to make intelligent decisions, and be able to make great basketball decisions. Beyond that, just having really high character people who are going to buy into the system that coach wants to use and play with.”"

Horst on what the season ahead means considering the team’s upcoming free agents:

"“We need to see a team that takes a step forward. Last year we had great success in making back-to-back playoffs, and back-to-back .500 seasons. We did some things last year, but we want to take another step. I think if this group can take another step collectively, and buy into coach’s system, play how he wants to play, continue to be high character guys and really show progress toward our ultimate goal of sustaining success over a long period of time; I think there’s a strong argument for keeping this group together, and that’s something we talk about a lot. That doesn’t mean we’re going to sit and not continue to work, and look for options to improve our team, and improve our flexibility, and improve our long-term positioning, but we like the group that we have and we’re really excited to see what they do.”"
