Refining two-point efficiency
Although Snell’s outside shooting is of the utmost importance to any offensive success he may experience this coming year, the New Mexico alum will have to refine his effectiveness in the times he ventures inside the arc.
Snell’s two-point percentage dipped from 54.8 percent on 186 attempts during his first season in Milwaukee in 2016-17 to 49 percent on 157 two-point attempts last year. Not only that, but Snell’s finishing within 0-3 feet of the basket sunk from 68.5 percent during 16-17 to 64.8 percent last season, per Basketball-Reference.com.
Again, this aspect of Snell’s game is far from his specialty nor is it where he’ll have the greatest impact on the Bucks’ offense.
Nonetheless, showing some improvements in being able to knock down the occasional mid-ranger when run off the three-point line and/or putting the ball on the floor to put home a driving lay up can affect how Snell is respected from opposing defenders when the situation dictates it.
It may be something small as it relates to his entire repertoire, but any incremental improvements from Snell in other areas of his offensive game could do wonders for him and the Bucks overall.
