Refine three-point consistency

Although his overall scoring acumen has been rightly recognized since entering the league, the main focus in DiVincenzo’s offensive role this season and beyond is being a complementary three-point shooter.

That may not stand as much of a concern if you were strictly judging by how he fared in this regard on the college level, considering he stood as a career 37.8 percent three-point shooter on 344 attempts during his three years at Villanova.

With that said, there’s a period of adjustment all newcomers experience when trying to find their touch from the NBA three-point line, something we’ve already seen in the first glimpses of DiVincenzo in a Bucks uniform as of this writing.

DiVincenzo has explored measures to get ahead of this adjustment in this sense as he converted 56 of 152 three-point attempts from NBA range during his redshirt sophomore season last year, per Will Schreefer’s shot chart tool over at The Stepien.

Nonetheless, the combination of acclimating to the jump in play, going against NBA level defenders and his streaky shooting tendencies may contribute to what could be a more worrying shooting performance from downtown than what the Bucks’ brass hope to see out of DiVincenzo during his rookie campaign.
