Eastern Conference. 0-1. CHARLOTTE HORNETS. B. After being outclassed for almost the entire first half, the Charlotte Hornets battled their way back in the second half, spearheaded by the effort of Kemba Walker.
Walker was simply incredible in this game, finishing with 41 points on 15-of-29 shooting and 7-of-13 from behind the arc. The only knock on the former Husky’s performance is that he missed the go-ahead layup in the closing seconds of the game.

The Hornets’ supporting cast was a mixed bag, as the team received decent contributions from the rest of their rotation players. Outside of Walker, the most impressive Hornet was second-year player Malik Monk, who played 34 minutes off the bench. Monk ended the contest with 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting, which included 4-of-8 from three.

In what was his head coaching debut, James Borrego’s team showed a fantastic effort to come back from a 20-point deficit and have a real chance to win the game. The basic look of their offense seemed to include some similar spacing and ball movement concepts that the Bucks’ staff is incorporating into their system.

The most notable change Borrego made was going to a small-ball lineup in the fourth quarter, which gave the Bucks plenty of problems and was part of the reason for their offensive struggles in the period.
