In their second and final regular season meeting, the Milwaukee Bucks fell to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night in Milwaukee to even the season series.
In a game in which Milwaukee trailed by single digits for most of the game, the Bucks would ultimately fall to the Warriors 105-95 at Fiserv Forum on Friday night.
Despite the respective returns of Ersan Ilyasova and Khris Middleton from injury and absence due to personal reasons, the Bucks were unable to find their rhythm all night in a sloppy game filled with turnovers and poor shooting.
This tweet from Kane Pitman describes the night best:
-The Bucks total of 95 was a season low, falling short of the 103 in Portland.
— Kane Pitman (@KanePitman) December 8, 2018
-The 7 3-point makes are also a season low, previous was 9 makes x3
-The 3-point percentage of 17.9% beats the previous low of 22.7% against PHX
-The 19 TO's was the 2nd most
It was that kind of night
On what was clearly an off night for the Bucks, the Warriors had their fair share of struggles as well, tallying 17 turnovers and failing to capitalize on the Bucks’ numerous defensive breakdowns. Kevin Durant scored just 11 points on 3-of-14 shooting and just 1-of-6 from three. Curry had a slightly more efficient night with 20 points, but still shot just 7-of-17 from the field.
After a particularly sloppy start to the game, with Khris Middleton missing back-to-back shots and Giannis Antetokounmpo turning the ball over on consecutive possessions, things didn’t get much better from there as the Warriors jumped out to a double-digit lead early in the first quarter.
The Bucks battled back and kept the deficit manageable for most of the game, even taking a brief lead late in the third quarter before ceding another run to the Warriors they would fail to recover from.
The Warriors left Milwaukee with their third-straight win to conclude their long, five-game road trip.
Reflecting on the game, here are three takeaways from the Bucks loss to the Warriors last night.
