Leaving it to second chances

Perhaps the biggest blemish in the Bucks’ otherwise resilient performance Monday night was their lack of sharpness to fend off the Nets on the offensive glass and ability to convert second chance opportunities.

The Nets collectively corralled 16 offensive rebounds, which helped offset their rather unexceptional shooting performance from the field (Brooklyn hit 41.5 percent of their 94 shots from the field, but did hit on 36.4 percent of their 44 three-point attempts).

As a result, Brooklyn tallied 23 second chance points on the night, a mark that stands as the second-most the Bucks have given up to an opponent throughout their highly successful season.

Certainly the fact that the Bucks had a quick turnaround, being that they were on the second night of a back-to-back and one that spanned the length of the East coast, played a part in this area of their game as a whole.

Luckily, only one back-to-back remains in their regular season, but it’ll be hard to excuse that in the playoffs, should the Bucks get outplayed in the offensive rebounding department a few weeks from now.
