Strengths
Standing at 6’10” and armed with a 7’3″ wingspan, Kabengele possesses the necessary physcial tools for where the center position is trending toward in the NBA (side note: Kabengele is the nephew of Hall of Fame center, Dikembe Mutombo).
The combination of that and his explosive athleticism lends itself well for Kabengele around the basket to both protect the rim to send away shot attempts from any opposing players and to leap up and throw down vicious two-handed slam dunks on alley oops and lobs.
Along those same lines, Kabengele can glide up and down the floor with ease and he holds plenty of foot speed to defend in space and take on switches on opposing ball handlers defensively.
Perhaps the most appetizing element of the 21-year-old’s game is his budding shooting range and proficiency from three-point range at this stage in his development, especially as he’s improved year over year in that regard both from deep and from the free throw line.
Lastly, Kabengele takes plenty of pride in cleaning up on the glass on both ends of the floor and his production in that department truly stands on its own.
