Summer focus and final grade
Malcolm Brogdon faces an interesting summer, and perhaps the most uncertain of any of his Bucks teammates.
As a restricted free agent, there’s every chance Brogdon will be back in Milwaukee next season as the Bucks have the right to match any offer sheet that comes in from other teams around the league. The question is what type of offer sheets can Brogdon expect to field?
His recent plantar fascia tear certainly seemed to add a degree of uncertainty to Brogdon’s financial worth on his next deal, but the way he hit the ground running upon his return to action may well have caught the eye of some yet unknown team.
Such a scenario could lead to Brogdon receiving an offer of upward of $20 million, and at that point the Bucks’ resolve in keeping him would really be tested.
Outside of the far from insignificant issue of where he’ll be playing next season, Brogdon’s summer looks set to consist of working on his body.
After missing a chunk of this year through injury, there’s no doubt that Brogdon will be eager to get himself in the best shape possible for next season, and in his exit interviews he explicitly made reference to a desire to “trim down“.
Looking back on this season, he can be immensely proud of what he achieved when he was on the court.
