The best of Wilson

Wilson’s blend of athleticism, length and and size suited him incredibly well on the defensive end and it made him an integral piece within the Bucks’ bench mob over the course of the season.

That shone through as Wilson posted a 101.1 defensive rating, per NBA.com/stats, and his overall versatility when guarding multiple positions was undoubtedly a bright spot in Milwaukee flexing different defensive styles at times throughout the year.

But it was Wilson’s rim protection and ability to recover and contest shot attempts within the paint that was remarkable, as he managed to limit opponents to shoot 51 percent on shots attempted within six feet of the hoop.

Along with that, Wilson’s willingness to clean on up on the glass defensively was a big boon, considering he posted a 17.4 defensive rebounding percentage off of opponent misses and tallied 9.1 total rebounds per 36 minutes this season.

Moving on from his strong defensive services, Wilson showcased an improved and more effective three-point stroke that was necessary for him to space the floor. The California native connected on 36.2 percent of his 127 tries from downtown while with the Bucks and hit 46.4 percent of his 28 three-point attempts over his six assignments with the Herd.

What was most encouraging about Wilson’s marksmanship is the range he displayed with his shot and it translated to him shooting 36.2 percent on the 69 three-point attempts he made between 25-29 feet.
