Milwaukee Bucks 2018-19 Season Review: D.J. Wilson
Game of the season
Wilson’s most heralded performance during the regular season came back on January 31 as the Bucks took down the Toronto Raptors in a 105-92 win on the road in a nationally televised duel that Thursday night.
In over 22 minutes of burn off the bench, Wilson put up a season-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field (3-of-6 from downtown, 1-of-1 from the charity stripe), five rebounds, two steals, two turnovers, one assist, one block and was a -2 on that night.
Opening his scoring account with a triple, Wilson showcased some wobbly moments early on in his shifts as he tried to get settled into the night. But Wilson’s brand of disruptive defense and hustle plays, whether in forcing turnovers or crashing the glass, eventually took hold to steady out his showing.
With that said, the signature contribution Wilson provided to Milwaukee in the win was his sparkling scoring as the sophomore forward displayed plenty of confidence letting it fly from deep and putting down the rare mid-range shot too.
Between that and putting down some impressive two-hand slams, Wilson provided a much needed lift as the game wore on and looking back, it certainly felt like the most fitting performance that represented the big strides he made throughout the year.
