Strengths

Although he’s undoubtedly a little undersized, Davis possesses the potential to be an excellent defender at the NBA level.

A 6’8″ wingspan will help him to overcome some of the limitations of his 6’4″ frame, but exceptional lateral quickness could more than negate any deficiencies in those areas as he may even have a chance to develop into a specialist wing who can lock down the opposing point guard.

Davis is very much a hard-nosed style of player who will bring consistent energy and embrace any challenge he faces on the defensive end, although he would need to add significant muscle to his frame if he was to be tasked with guarding bigger forwards down the road.

Offensively, Davis has good experience of running the pick-and-roll from his final season at Ole Miss, and he was relatively successful in doing so. Being a little undersized, his willingness to pass and more than respectable vision will provide an important boost to what he can offer a team offensively.

Although his percentages aren’t quite where NBA teams will want them to be, Davis has the potential to become a dynamic shooter as he’s already developed a wider range of shots in his arsenal. Davis won’t need to work solely off of spot-up opportunities, as he has shown real comfort in creating shots off the dribble.

Beyond that, in line with the energy he displays on the defensive end, Davis is an incredibly willing runner on the break. He can operate at speed, with or without the ball, in transition, making him a strong fit for any team that likes to get out and run.
