The worst of Gasol

Injury ultimately undid Gasol’s stay in Milwaukee and his 2018-19 overall campaign.

Having suffered a stress fracture in his right foot that held him out for nearly two months earlier in the year while with the Spurs, Gasol wasn’t able to avoid the injury bug when he came over to Milwaukee late in the season.

What started as a left ankle injury that initially kept Gasol out for a month blossomed into the 38-year-old suffering a stress fracture in that foot, which permanently shut down his season midway through the Bucks’ playoff run.

But before Gasol’s Bucks stint had been sidelined back in mid-March, the lasting memory of his three total cameos only put his defensive limitations into focus.

Case in point, in the 25 minutes and 25 seconds Gasol logged over his three appearances with the Bucks, he was a -18 when on the court and majority of that plus-minus came courtesy of a single contest. Speaking of which…
