After taking the world by storm with a string of incredible performances during this year’s NCAA Tournament, Purdue University guard Carsen Edwards is making the jump in this year’s NBA Draft.

Very few prospects entering the 2019 NBA Draft left a lasting mark on their collegiate career like Purdue University scoring guard Carsen Edwards.

Edwards lifted the Boilermakers throughout their run to the Elite Eight in this year’s NCAA Tournament with incredible scoring outbursts with each passing round.

More from Bucks Draft

It wasn’t as if Edwards wasn’t already on the radar of draft experts and scouts around the NBA, but his dazzling scoring performances raised his profile even further, enough for him to take the plunge and enter this year’s draft class a couple of weeks after Purdue was knocked out of the tourney.

Now with his eyes set on the NBA, Edwards is well aware of the changes and the many adjustments he’ll have to make to cut his teeth and stick in the league as Chris Dortch of NBA.com relayed in a profile on the 21-year-old:

"“My main emphasis [since his final college game] has been finding whatever it is that will help me stick,” Edwards says. “The pressure and the role I had in college will not be the same. I’m going to have to make people better. I’m going to have to understand pick-and-rolls, spacing, making reads. I need to be as tough as I can possibly be as a defender. But my approach as a point guard will be that, when I need to score, I’ll still be ready.”"

In his 36 appearances with the Boilermakers for the 2018-19 season, Edwards averaged 24.3 points on .394/.355/.837 shooting splits, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals across 35.4 minutes per contest.

So without further ado, let’s explore Carsen Edwards’ strengths, weaknesses, how draft experts currently rate him and evaluate his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
