Louis King

Much like Okpala, Louis King is another exceptionally long and rangy wing who could develop into an incredibly valuable NBA player. In King’s case, though, he may well be a little more proven in some key areas already, in spite of his freshman status.

King is a really capable and willing shooter from both the mid-range and beyond the arc, and paired with his 6’8″ height that should make him a very tough cover at the next level. The bulk of King’s appeal presently lies on the offensive end, but with good vision and a willingness to pass, there are at least different shades to his game on that end too.

The question is whether King’s lengthy frame can translate to making him a defensive stopper as a pro. The former Oregon Duck could certainly end up as a high-level 3-and-D role player, but the defensive element of that equation currently requires improved awareness and engagement before that could come to pass as reality.

King is likely to be available at 30, but it may also be for good reason that he’s pegged as a second rounder by most. Injury slowed him down at the start of the season, while there are also knee injuries in his past dating back to high school. If Milwaukee is confident in his health, and his ability to improve defensively, King’s offensive repertoire leaves a lot to like.
