Strengths
It isn’t hyperbolic to say there have been few prospects or NBA players that are capable of doing the things that Bol is well equipped at his size.
Coming in at over 7’2″ and armed with a 7’7″ wingspan, Bol is incredibly skilled with the ball and he arguably moves up and down the floor with the ball in his hands better than he is without it. More importantly, Bol is a scoring threat with handling the rock, whether it’s attacking closeouts or even driving through the paint and towards the hoop.
The 19-year-old is an incredibly lethal three-point threat and as Ricky O’Donnell of SB Nation delved into in his case for Bol’s professional prospects, Bol’s shooting pedigree dates back to his time in the amateur ranks and at the Nike EYBL. Increasing his volume of triples will be key to making it a more prominent asset in his game.
Defensively, Bol certainly carries plenty of concerns in terms of his strength and reading of the game on that front. However, Bol’s length can simply be a problem for opponents to attempt shots over at the bucket.
Lastly, Bol’s raw physical tools and astounding 9’7.5″ standing reach makes him well adept for alley oops, lobs and to help leap up for the occasional putback slam.
