Glenn Robinson III

The son of Bucks legend Glenn Robinson, Glenn Robinson III remains one of the more intriguing young wings in terms of obvious upside that has yet to necessarily come to the forefront of his NBA play.

Robinson was a notable subject of free agency focus for us here at Behind the Buck Pass last offseason, before he ultimately landed a $4 million deal with the Detroit Pistons. After something of a disappointing campaign in the Motor City, the second year of that deal is not expected to be guaranteed, which will make him an unrestricted free agent.

Having made just 29 percent of his three-point attempts last season, it’s not entirely surprising that the Pistons have opted to move on. Still, the bigger picture shouldn’t be overlooked when it comes to Robinson.

Prior to last season in Detroit, Robinson had three straight seasons of stellar three-point shooting as he improved from year to year going from 37.8 percent to 39.2 percent to 41.2 percent during his time with the Indiana Pacers.

At just 25 years old, Robinson remains a tantalizing young player, who could develop into a very valuable 3-and-D role player in the right environment. The Bucks may be able to offer just that, particularly when you consider the track record of Mike Budenholzer and his staff when it comes to developing wings.
