Fit

Much like his role, Lopez’s fit with the Bucks was well established throughout all of last season.

The combination of Lopez’s high-volume sharpshooting prowess, stout protection of the basket and sound fundamentals on the glass was reflected in Milwaukee’s end-to-end dominance. As stark of a career turnaround that Lopez has already experienced, it isn’t crazy to think that the Stanford alum may have more room to grow in his specialist role, especially shooting the ball.

For example, Lopez improved on his three-point efficiency to hit 36.5 percent while launching up an even higher clip of tries from that level of the floor (65.1 percent of Lopez’s overall shot attempts came from beyond the arc).

And considering that 391 of Lopez’s 512 total three-point attempts came from within 25-29 feet, the California native’s unlimited range could be an even more potent threat in his skill package after connecting on 35.5 percent of those looks last season, per NBA.com/stats.

All of that isn’t even touching on how valuable Lopez was to the Bucks’ standing as the best defensive team by defensive efficiency last year. That resulted in Lopez having a career year by shot blocking standards as he averaged 2.2 blocks per game.

Needless to say, Lopez has executed all facets of his supercharged supporting role and barring injury (knock on wood), there’s no reason to see him falter in that regard in the years to come.
