As Nike finally unveiled the Zoom Freak 1s, Giannis Antetokounmpo joined a very select list of Milwaukee Bucks players to have their own signature shoe in the NBA. Where does it rank among the others?
It has been quite the offseason for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo was recently announced as the league MVP, beating out James Harden and Paul George for the award. Then last Friday, the Nike Zoom Freak 1s debuted in three colorways, to make him just the fifth active NBA player with a signature Nike shoe.
The shoes have been a long time coming for many Bucks fans. Back in 2017, Antetokounmpo extended his contract with Nike and announced to the world that he would be debuting a signature shoe with the global brand in the near future. On Friday, Nike officially announced the “All Bros”, “Black/white” and “Roses” Nike Zoom Freak 1, all set to be debuted by Giannis (and his brothers) in the 2019-20 season.
With the announcement and release of the Freak 1s, what better time than the present to take a look back at the history and rank the best signature shoes ever worn by Bucks players.
This list is purely subjective and very much open to personal choice. The criteria is that the shoe must have been worn while the player was in Milwaukee. So without further ado, let’s take a look at some honorable mentions before we get to the five best signature shoes ever worn by Bucks players.
