Looking at Minnesota

Don’t look now, but the Summer League Bucks will be facing quite the test in the Timberwolves Monday night.

The Timberwolves have started their own run in Las Vegas on quite the high after defeating both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks to stand 2-0 and are in prime position to take one of the top eight spots needed to advance to the tournament portion of the event.

Minnesota’s currently doing all of this without the sixth overall pick from this year’s draft in Jarrett Culver, though that could change after the draft night trade they arranged with the Phoenix Suns that was made official over the weekend.

Also, their second round pick, Jaylen Nowell, has been sidelined with a bruised right quad.

However, the Wolves are brimming with NBA talent on their Summer League roster between their 2018 draft class in Josh Okogie and Keita Bates-Diop, Australian international Mitchell Creek and two-way players Naz Reid and Jared Terrell.

And for all the Herd fans out there, seven-foot big man Brandon McCoy has latched on the Wolves Summer League squad after spending the last year in Oshkosh.
